What’s it like to be a PEDro Rater – Guloznur Karabicak

To celebrate #PEDroTurns25, we asked our PEDro Raters why they volunteer to rate articles on PEDro.

How long have you been a Rater?

I have been rating for PEDro for more than 5 years.

What do you enjoy about rating?

What I enjoy the most about rating articles for PEDro is that it allows me to read many articles outside my field. My routine work life is so busy that I find it difficult to find time to read articles outside my field. But thanks to PEDro’s ratings, I had the chance to read many articles. This is an activity that increases my creativity a lot. In addition, I believe that the methodological quality of the articles I write has also increased in this way, because there were many examples that inspired me in the articles I read.

Why did you start rating?

The factor that enabled me to score was actually a meta-analysis study that I started to conduct. Thanks to this article, I first learnt the concept of methodological quality and then became a PEDro volunteer.
